ISO Chestnut RS
  • Ok a lot of people do not love their chestnut horses. Are you one of them? Do you think well I will keep it but i am not sure what do with her/him?
I will love them. I have decided to devote my time and love to those beautiful chestnut/red horse everyone else thinks is boring.
I am just a basic chap (well girl actually) so I do not have a lot of money but I have a couple of ExPr (and a lot of the PFs) but I sold my non chestnut RS and would love to have a brindle or other RS that is chestnut based. May be a Texas Tea? If you have one you are not using - I can only offer maybe 30k - would prefer WB Stallion (let's face it a boy can do more than a mare) but I'm ok with draft or sport pony too then I can try to make your red gene shine..... Give me a chance....
Please PM me (or pop on this post) and I will try to make red the new colour.... (I am also trying to gain enough money to upgrade - hoping to do that without compromising my breeding).
RED - the new black :) xx
  • You mentioned Texas Tea so I'm guessing you like horses with Splash and Frame. I'm not sure if you're interested, but this Chestnut Splash Frame stud is in Foundation rescue right now, so he's perfect foundation quality which is the same as a Texas Tea.

  • Foundation Rescue has a lot of really nice chestnut horses right now, some even flaxen. Of course I look at them and think a lot of them would be perfect for anyone who wants to build a liver or liver flaxen herd with a DP RS stallion.
  • He is lovely - and yes I like him a lot. Foundation rescue is where I have found most of my lovely horses from. I would like a brindle to throw into the mix, Actually I liked him so much _ i have bought him :) - cheers xx
  • @fj1482 - yes chestnut or bay with PFs is definitely the way to go. I don't know much about DP
    - Dense Ph?? that gives a sooty look - special gene - enables liver/chocolates from chestnuts/palominos - but only stuff I've read - maybe something I would like to try from my sooty chestnuts at some point.
Right now I would like to produce blue/A youngsters - don't know if I'm on the right course yet til I get an upgrade.
Will get there eventually - but many thanks for your interest. :)
  • Yes, DP is Dense Pheomelanin. It's not as special as you might think. It does occur randomly especially if you find the homo sooty HH or a dark chestnut HH.
    Thanked by 1ChilliFireFarm
  • I have this guy. He's not Brindle but he is an RS. I bought him thinking was a mare (oops) for my KP herd, but don't really need him as a stallion. I would be happy to sell him to you for create price.

    Harvest Festival RS ess

I also have this girl. She's a Texas Tea. She's not showing her Brindle but she does have it. She's GMTable until rollover. I put patterns on her for my KP herd but I would be willing to let her go to someone who was going to cherish her...I probably would want a little more for her.

If either of them interest you let me know. You're also welcome to have a rummage through my herd. I have a fair few chestnuts for my KP herd and need to cull 10 or 20 this season.
  • You have a lot of really beautiful horses in there. I must admit I am one of those who find the light horse face not so appealing but any others I am ok with, otherwise I would take harvest festival. Chili kiss is lovely but ideally I am looking for a good stallion - I do have an exp producer stallion and a lot of PFs so I am thinking I could probably build up from those really. I now have some money so I am nearly half way to an upgrade which will mean I can properly flourish. Many thanks though - I appreciate everyone's help. If you have a WB/draft red/chestnut RS (or special guy) you don't feel fits in with your herd let me know.
  • I do also have this guy.

    L HiddenTreasure ExPro eL

He's not RS but he's an Exceptional Producer. I was going to use him this season in my Appy spot size experiment but I could pretty easily replace him. ExPro isn't as important to me in that experiment.
