That moment when you breed the perfect filly for your lines and she is spayed by breeding advice ;-; She is literally everything I want for my KP line- right height, right patterns (kit m + tobi) and I suspect she's got DP too.
I'm going to try and save up enough ebs to unalter and boost her, but is it better to go with a 5% or a 10%? Ideally I like the G3s to paper blue, but I usually just pasture breed, so can usually be a little stricter.

On the plus side though, I did get a Black Liver filly who made it through testing!

The most the game allows you to boost a horse is 5% so a 10% boost isn't possible.
-
To give a 10% boost is prohibitively expensive unless you have a stable large enough that you're always pushing the 10 mil cap, because you have to clone the horse after the first 5% boost and then boost the clone by another 5%.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Also, GallifreyanAngel only has a basic upgrade so she won't be able to clone the horse in order to do the 10% boost. That's really interesting though, I never realized you could clone a horse to boost it like that.
-
Thanks guys! I must have gotten confused lol I thought there were 5% and 10% boosts, but must have been mistaken. Def don't have the money to be boosting and cloning lol
-
There are 1% and 5% boosts. You can give up to 5 1% boosts to one horse I think, but only a maximum of 5 total percentage points to any one horse without using the boost-clone-Boost method.
-
As an FYI, it's cheaper to do one 5% boost token than five 1% boost tokens, so if you want the full boost for this horse you'll save money by doing the 5% token versus a bunch of 1% tokens.
-
Ah I knew one of them had a 1 in it lol
I don't know if I'll be able to give her the full 5% boost as I'm a poor student, but I might be able to do a 1%. Its only 1 GMT to unalter isn't it? Is there anyway to tell how much a horse would need to be boosted to pass BA? -
Boosting is relatively new in this version of the game. So all the tricks aren't necessarily known yet.
I watched when boosting was first introduced in HaJ1, several real life years ago. It seemed to me like there was a perfect mania for the technique. At least a handful of people were boosting and cloning and reboosting like mad. Of course, that was before Ammit created the Breeders Clubs and there was a fierce contest for the top spots on the Top Stallions and Top Mares lists. Many of the very old, very long lines went back to the beginning of the game and careful breeders had reached a very high level of quality for both PT and breeding ability. The best stables were in a contest to produce horses with higher than 12 PT scores, and newer lines were way behind in trying to catch up. Several people started double boosted lines and even boosted foals in higher generations. Being a much more casual player, I just sat back and watched in amazement. :D
With the Breeders Clubs, a lot of that pressure is off, and this is a much younger game as well. From what I've seen in the forum, mostly boosting is used here to improve the chances of a really special-looking foal or one with exactly the desired gene set to get past the Breeding Advice tests.De gustibus non disputandum. Yeah the idea would be to just boost her enough for her to pass breeding advice. I'm hoping a 1% is enough to push her over the edge, but I'm not sure. I really don't have the 50 dollars (after conversion rates) to spare for the 5% boost. Hopefully one is enough...
