I'm considering pulling my perfect and ex perfect mares from the pasture, along with ex producers that show well, to show for a while to add to points. Would I still get some intact foals from them without the pasture bonus? I have a dozen or so, if I could still get a few intact foals, that'd be plenty. I know a few of you do this, I've seen a few comments on in, so looking for some insight. :)

Yes, you can definitely still get intact foals if they aren't in the pasture. Pasture bonus increases your chances of getting intact foals but you certainly can get quality intact foals without the bonus. You just won't get as many of them.

I only have 2 pastures, so I did barn breeding with 3 studs this year. Got about half intact and half altered. This is only my second month, so I don't know what the ratio is for pasture breeding foals.

As soon as I breed my mares in pasture, I pull them all out...give them a showing session....then put them back (All within 24hrs)....That way they get some added points but then they are all still ready for breeding for the following season.

I don't generally leave any of my mares in pasture except the ones I don't show because they've levelled off in a bad spot. I figure I need the extra show bonus more than the better quality foals. I still get intact foals each season too.
