IOS Ice stud

Looking for a stud to breed my ice mare to kinda want to start an ice line she's a 3G if you have a stud I could breed her too and I don't know exactly what ice gene she has but if you know I'd like to know more about her :)
3G Icy Wonder UE -
-
According to her gene test, she is Ice 1.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
SandyCreek Farm: ID# 441
also playing H&J1 as SandyCreek Acres: ID# 137592 -

Does is matter what Ice I breed her to?
-
Not to me
-
@olio900 what's the stud fee on Snowy Dancer
-
@OakCreek13, I just realized that mare is a mare I used to own and sold to someone. I probably bred her to these stallions or their father. Lol :P
Also, I apologize, I forgot to mention I would have to sell you straws from my boys, I don't know if you could use those though, sorry again. -
750? I am not really sure what he is worth
-
-
Also Oak she is uneven so she will most likely produce show babies, she did for me at least.
-
That's fine I need some show babies. Yes I can use straws
-
I just feel like not breeding her is kinda a waste even if she has show babies I want to use her to her full potential
-
I agree, even if she gives you show ponies, those are still helpful. Do you want a straw from Snowy Dance?
-
Yes I would please :) thank you so much Olio
-
I sent one Oak
-
Okay I can't find the straw in advance breeding lab? I've never purchased a straw before how do I get the straw?
-
@OakCreek13, your mare has Ice 1. The only Ice genes that can be shared with people who did not purchase that specific gene using real money for a foundation are Ice 1, Ice 2, Ice 5, and Ice 8. Out of those 4 genes, Ice 1 and Ice 8 are usually the only 2 that are shared with non foundation owners. Ice 2 was significantly more expensive than the other 3 non restricted Ice genes, so those foundation owners don't share their intact horses with non Ice 2 owners since they want to keep the lines quality and not have lots of poor quality intact horses around like what happened with Ice 1 and Ice 8. And it seems like Ice 5 never became all that popular, I don't think I've ever seen people post Ice 5 foals in foal brags, BOP posts, etc.
Your mare is a really good example of why people who buy expensive genes generally do not share them with users who didn't purchase the gene. She may look like she's a mostly even 3G mare at first glance but if you take a look at her dam's pedigree you will see some horrible quality horses and really uneven lines there. If you judge her generation by looking at the highest gen horses in her pedigree instead of the lowest gen horses, your mare is actually a 9G horse and not a 3G horse. There are some Failed papered horses in her pedigree, lots of unpapered horses, a C papered 3G Ice stallion from 2 generations of B papered stallions, and so on.
It's very hard to judge your mare's breeding quality since her pedigree is so uneven. You could calculate her AFPT but she only has 2 living foals so you really don't have enough data points for that average to be very meaningful. Her sire is only C papered so my guess is that she's not a very high level Red papered mare. If you breed her to Star or A papered stallions, you will probably get only altered foals. If you really want intact foals out of this mare, a B papered stallion is probably the way to go. -
And if your goal is just to get show babies out of her, your best bet is to use the highest quality Star stallion you can find (look at their AFPTs) and make sure you choose one that's reasonably priced. I wouldn't look specifically for an Ice stallion for her if you just want show foals.
-
It would show up as an alert on your home page
-
Got it! Thank you :)
-
Holy cow this baby has color!! She passes BA but not SBA she's got a nice PT score and will be a very pretty show baby I'm in love with her :x
Thank you Olio and thank you Windward for the info on what I can do I really appreciate it :)

So glad it worked. She's a beauty!
-
It looks like a B papered stallion is a good match for her if you want to get intact foals, so that's probably a good paper level to stick with for the future (unless you decide you just want high PT show foals). Once she's had a few more foals and you can get a more accurate AFPT calculated for her, then you can choose a stallion with a similar AFPT and that should also help increase your chances at an intact foal as well.

@WindwardFarm any Ice below 9 is open.
-
@deardiamond no, a while ago we had an "out of the vault" type of ice sale. All of the ices were for sale. I think this was before ice13 was released but I cant remember lol. Since ice 1, 2, 5, and 8 were previously released without restrictions Ammit asked that we only share the newly created ones with others who own foundations with those genes. Its not enforced like the closed genes but it was asked.
-
@deardiamond, According to the announcement post from the out of the vault ice sale, only Ice 1, 2, 5, and 8 are not restricted. It says that Ice 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 12 all have strict no sharing rules and can only be shared with people who purchased that specific gene. I don't think Ice 13 existed when that announcement was made but I know Ice 13 is also a closed gene. I'm not sure what happened to Ice 6 because I don't see it mentioned anywhere on that thread. I don't know if we even have an Ice 6, I'd have to do a search and see if any horses exist that have it.

"I think you keep trying to make it way more complicated than it is. Axiom, Ice 9 and up and Macchiato are the only closed genes. "
She posted this last month. Now I don't know what to believe! -
Ammit's said a few times recently that only Ice9 and up are closed - everything else is free game, so I'm going to assume that that's the rule now.
-
@WindwardFarm thats pretty much the same exact thing that I said lol.
@ElementalStables but if you read that link it says those genes are closed. So Im thinking she forgot about those couple ice genes. She wouldnt just change her mind on it. -
Also, Ice 3, 4, and 7 cost $50 USD per copy so she may not be too worried about the owners of those genes sharing them with the public after they paid so much money for them. I would think that anyone who paid that much for a gene would be very careful about only sharing with others who also bought the gene. Ice 6 appears to be a private Ice gene for only Ammit herself so no worries about that one getting out to the public either.
