How do most players have so many barns?
-
Just curious! Have you invested mostly RL cash into HJ2? Or are you somehow farming investment vouchers on a massive scale? XD
-
A little bit of both. Some people, like myself, stock up on barns when Ammit has sales. Otherwise people will usually use IV's to get new barns. More barns = more show ponies.... More show ponies = bigger daily bonus $$
-
So far I haven't bought a barn with real money. I've just been stocking up IVs. A basic upgrade helps, and I'm slowly building up my daily bonus...Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
Personally, I have 6 extra barns and have not spent a dime of my own money on this game. It has taken a lot and I mean a lot of time and patience to get my stable to the size that it is, but it is 100% worth it! My advice would to be to show every horse you have, your show bonus builds much quicker that way. Also as ObsidianKitsune said, a basic upgrade helps a ton!

When I first started playing HaJ1, back in 2011, we didn't have the showing bonus. We depended on the profits from showing, which meant keeping track of when our horses would be likely to place in the top half of their classes. The entry fees for the higher levels were often very high, so we could lose money fast if we were showing a lot of them that didn't place well. At that time, I frequently bought barns and other things with real money.
I've always been a pixel pony hoarder, so I managed to gather quite a few horses both there and here, when I started playing in 2013. So, when Ammit switched over to the showing bonus, I had a lot of horses with a lot of points, and since then, my showing bonus generally provides me with all the barn space I need.De gustibus non disputandum. I buy at least one 30 stall barn each breeding season. I do that by selling off at least 50 altered foals. I then fill that barn with more show horses to build my daily show bonus up. When it comes to GMTing I try to do as much as possible with in game cash and then supplement it with RL money. Every time I start a new line I also use real money to by a pasture for that line that way my mares can just sit in pasture and get a full pasture bonus every time I breed them.

I do as fj1482 does - a 30 stall barn each season from auctioning altered foals. Then I geld a lot of my high PT colts (you don't need as many stallions!) to keep as show ponies. I make a lot of mares from the herd helpers and breed them in pasture with an A papered stallion (who is not in my breeding line) as well to make show ponies and also auction back those mares and a lot of the foals who are not good enough. It takes a while to build up but well worth it. Always auction rather than selling back to the game. I have bought 2 extra pastures with RL money and one GMT (so far), although I want a premium upgrade... ;)
This is Dinascar rather than CFF ( I am on a different account). -
I've done a bit of both. I bought one pasture, just because you can't buy them with IVs and one barn with real money. The rest I got by selling horses, offering some for stud and saving my weekly bonus. Still working to get my show bonus up, though.
-
I started out buying barns with real money, and still do when there is a sale, but if I manage to fill all my barns back up with show ponies I will be able to easily fund the vast majority of my play, including buying new barns if needed, with my show bonus.
-
Ive learned to create a boat load of mares with a random stud and put them all in pasture then breed them and auction everything off since every create is 2,500 and breeding is 500 but when you sell horses in auction you get an extra 2,000 per pair (mare and foal). I've bought stuff with me RL money but it just got to be to much money I was spending on a game so this is how I stock up the HBs
-
When I first started (2009ish?) I only bought barns with game money. But I also didn't have a CLUE what I was doing! With the (now defunct) western horse game I started at the get go, so I was more confident about buying barns. Because of that, when I started over here (a year ago last March-ish) I KNEW what I needed for starters and just paid RL cash. It gave me a great start, and now I don't NEED to use cash for barns and extras, but I still do, because I am a grown up, and it's fun, and I can afford it now!
