Who's Excited?!
  • Today in Kentucky it is a chilly, cloudy day as we are experiencing the leftover Harvey passing over us. I am feeling fall so much today. It's September! It's time to bring out the pumpkins and nutmeg and sweaters! :) Lol, I love fall so much, and then there's winter after that... so much fun. I can't wait for the holidays. September is also my birthday month and we are taking a trip to Colorado, where I lived until recently, to see the aspens turning gold and visit some old friends.

Last year I joined HJ2 in November, so I had no idea what was going on when rank specials were abundant and sales were going on, but I am so excited for it this year. What are you guys looking forward to IRL and in the game as we head into fall?

  • oh yes I am very excited for fall and winter. I never thought I'd say this but I'm sick of the blistering sun it's close to 100 degrees here today.
  • I'm still waiting for summer
  • Where in Kentucky do you live? I also live in Kentucky near Mammoth Cave. I also love fall. It is awesome to watch the trees turn color. I am hoping to start riding my 7 year old gelding. I am trying to put weight on him so that my youngest can show him in 4h next year.
  • I'm in Montana and fall means hunting season :) Looking forward to that, the cooler weather, fishing trips now that it's not so hot and Halloween.
  • I must admit that I'm looking forward to October, when Saturdays will be much freer. Don't get me wrong, I love teaching therapeutic riding, but it does fill up 16 Saturdays between April and early September, and this year, as many Wednesday evenings for an hour as well.

The colorful hillsides of autumn are also a delight here in northern PA.

  • Over here in SoCal it's hard to get into the fall spirit since it's still in the high 70s to 80s and everyone is running around in shorts and flip flops. I'm hoping I can start to enjoy all those fall things before Halloween but it might still be hot then. I'd also love it if it cooled down since my apartment doesn't have air conditioning!

  • We're getting our winter logs delivered tomorrow, probably won't light the fire until the end of october though. I love the first fire of winter!
  • I dislike autumn and winter, it is 7 months of basically consent storms where from where I am from, which makes looking after the sheep and ponies really difficult, but it means we are closer to spring with baby lambs.

  • It's raining here too! (Arizona). I'm excited for lots of reasons! Just got off beautiful monsoon season here. Starting to cool off in PHX enough for horse shows. (I Live in the mountains I don't have that problem). In fact I have a practice show tomorrow. Than my first IEA competition end of the month. Then my first larger sized competition with my younger horse. Then next month I get to go to Indianapolis for horse judging for FFA. We will take a day trip down to Kentucky (any ideas of what to do? Me and another girl are trying to sneakily justify a lesson from a trainer there or something, and of course touristy stuff) today is my county fair. I didn't get entered for horse show soon enough but entered in an informational poster board.

  • best friend, I live near Lexington. :)
@HunterUnderSaddleGirl, I'm still pretty new to Kentucky so I don't know a whole lot of cool places, but when we moved here almost everyone told us to go to High Bridge. I've never been there, but they say it's pretty cool. Lexington also has a really cool new shopping center called The Summit if that's your thing. :)

  • I'm ready for winter but I can only handle it for a week then it can leave lol I live in Charlotte NC
  • @CWScowgirl87 We live in the same area, I agree that the weather is fantastic! I've lived here since I was born and most years it is still really hot this early in September.
@hunterundersaddlegirl Where are you going to be in Kentucky? If you're going to be in central Kentucky, you can pm me. I can recommend some cool tours and if I'm in town that weekend I could show you where I work which is a really interesting equine medical-related place.

  • Fall brings hunting season to my family too. Which means lots of time in the saddle on beautiful fall days in the mountains. Can't beat it!

I'm also preferential to dressing in long sleeves, jackets, long pants etc so I love the cooler weather for that reason too. Bring on my fall wardrobe!

  • @Oakcreek13 I'm from NC! Though I lived in an area that only got snow like once every 5 years. Moved up to VA and now we get it every year. Its nice to see it fall, but after being trapped in the house for a week, snow isn't so pretty anymore.
