Hi everyone,

Next month I am doing a pas de deux with my mum. It's a freestyle with costumes and music. I'm hoping we can come up with a really good theme asong marks will be awarded for creativity. Ideas please! We have a palomino and a taffy if you want ideas based on colour. Thanks everyone!

You could use the Righteous Brothers, I need your love and do a Ghost theme or use the theme song from Charlie and the Chocolate factory and dress like Willy Wonka Or do Hedwings Flight and do a Harry Potter theme.

Careful with film themes, a lot of the Disney stuff is on the 'most overused' list on Horse & Hound, along with the Game of thrones theme. Also, other people are likely to choose them.
I'd also avoid Lady Gaga and anything Hip Hop, there seems to be a fad for that too.

Having some idea of what costumes you were thinking of would be a big help, also if you had any particular style in mind.

Ok, I've been having some fun on Youtube...

I watched a dressage vid repeatedly and played different songs behind it, here's some off the wall ideas for you.

Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants, you could dress as highwaymen.

Swords of a thousand Men by tenpole Tudor, dress as knights (fun fact, Ed Tenpole Tudor was in Game of Thrones)

Thriller by Michael Jackson, dress as zombies

Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen, you could go all twilight themed for this one or do the Donnie Darko thing and have one of you wearing a giant rabbit head!

Thanks for all your ideas! I have actually since come up with an idea I am pretty happy with but I don't want to spill the beans incase people in my area play the game. I am going to try and hold in my idea until the day has happened and then I will reveal it.

Thanks, I will!! I am doing it with my mum so that should be good. I have made half the costumes and its not til late October!
