KitM question
-
How likely am I to get a lethal foal if I cross two KitM horses with only one gene
Example
3G Draygo Thief X EE aa CC dd gg ff SstyS pP KitmKit SpsSps OlwO WF: Large
4G Silver Harbor XEe aA CC dd gg Ff SstySsty Pp Zz KitmKit SpSps WF: Extensive
I do have a mare with 2 KitM alleles. What would be the chances of getting another similar or crossing her with other white genes

I'm pretty sure you're good but don't count me on it I don't remember who has the link for all the lethal crosses. I'll try to find it
-
Are you asking if Hom Kitm is lethal because it's not lethal. But I'd watch out for the frame that your horses are carrying and they all have high white factors watch out for that as well. Someone might have better advice
-
According to this handy dandy chart, kitM is not lethal when homozygous.
Both of the mares have frame, however your stallion does not.
You should not get a lethal foal if you cross that stallion with those two mares. WF is only lethal when combined with kit genes and since the only kit genes present are kitm, you're all good.

Although everyone worries about frame I'm pretty successful with crossing them I don't usually produce to many dead foals thank god for that. I'm never going to bred that stallion to either mare just was curious about that. Reason for not crossing he's a 4G so he wouldn't go to my 3G mare and the 4G mare is Blue he's a B stallion just don't see that happening. But thank you guys for the help and for the link to the chart thats an even bigger help!
