I created this homozygous brown mare and I don't quite have an eye, yet, for DP in At At. I'm suspicious she's het DP but would love some additional opinions!

I don't think she has DP. Just hom sooty. Her foal got the DP from the sire.
I'll post a few DP examples in a second :)

I've actually never thought the sire has DP - I always thought he had a larger reddish/brown area. He's het DP which makes him darker.

I looked through other hom sooty, hom At horses to try to find some comparisons. Most of them seem to be brighter, like this one. But, I know browns do interesting things with DP / Sty. The one below is almost genetically identical (at least for testable genes).

Homozygous brown not sure about his DP

Pretty sure hom brown with sooty is dark but when DO is added they turn more red. Could be wrong though

She's dark. I'd say het DP.

This is a normal sooty Hom brown.

I'm trying to find more hom brown with DP horses. I believe DP on hom brown affects the coat the same way it does to "wild bay" horses. Turning them into a blood bay color

Regular bay and brown with DP turn dark mahogany brown. Wild bay with DP turns red.

Interestingly, I find S+ with regular bay and brown increases the red highlights in their coat, especially in the dapples.

Off topic but where does the white on Bold Memory come from, she's very pretty :D

Interesting! It seems the Sty gives a bit of red hue in At but the Dp adds in the mahogany, as Cheers said. When you get both, it can be confusing!

I'm tempted to add DP to her to confirm but, unfortunately, the auctioned foal is still at the auction barn. Once it's gone, I'm going to try GMTing DP on!
