Oh so lovely! Did you have to bleach your hair first?Thanked by 1fj1482
-
Yes, we had to bleach it first. Normally I'm a dark brunette with a lot of grey lol

Ohhh I like. BUT that blue/green is gonna be a nightmare when it fades. I've had blue/green twice now and its the worst! It stays forever in my hair at least and it fade really weird it turns just kinda weird. ~If this works~ From this to this. I hope yours fades ok cause I think mine looks a little weird. Mine at the moment was sunset but it faded out the same as my blue (blue,purple,pink-red, orange, yellow)

Your head looks gorgeous! It's like a mermaid, galaxy combo! You'd look awesome at a glitter party with that colour :D
I'm probably going to be one of the few who says this, but I absolutely love the colours that blue/green throws when it fades! I had an ombre fade from royal peacock blue to my natural colour and it never really came out. It was this shade originally;
And this was nearly three years later!
It turned to this lovely green, pale grey colour on the ends of my head. I absolutely loved it, through it's entire cycle! In the end I had 8" cut off so it came above my shoulders and it was cut out. If I had the opportunity to I would love to ombre it into this again.

That's a really pretty color. The stylist used Pulp Riot which is known for fading on tone so hopefully it will fade nicely. My family was freaked out when I told them I was going to have my entire head dyed blue. My mother and husband were the loudest objections. Once they saw it though they liked it.

I want it! :D

I've not heard of pulp riot before? I'm not 100% sure we have it in the UK, but it looks like they have an awesome spectrum of colours! You can always use low to sulfate free shampoo to keep the colour in longer and get an more even fade, normal shampoos will strip the colour quicker and are kind of crappy for your scalp anyway.
It's a shame that they were so against the colour, I can understand if you know, removed your organs or something but a hair colour isn't the most taboo thing to do. Plus, it's awesome. I know in my city it's common to see even old little ladies rock a pink or blue head. It's just normal haha#4519Thanked by 1fj1482 -
Yes, I have a tinted shampoo to help the color stay longer and fade even. They like my hair now that they see it all done lol it was funny though how much they freaked out when I mentioned what I was going to do. Your right, dying your hair blue is really one of the least things I could do. I could have gone and had my lip pierced or gotten a face tattoo lol that really would have freaked them out rofl

Our eleven year old wanted her hair dyed this summer, and my husband and I didn't care, but told her she would have to pay for it. She had it done in a glorious shade of pink with highlights - it looked awesome in a French braid. The older members of both sides of the Fam had fits. His mom still has an issue with it - 6 months later. My husband and I were dumbfounded - its just hair. I must admit , I have been wanting to dye my hair a wild color for a while now, but I have dark brown hair and I don't want to bleach it.Thanked by 1fj1482 -
Waaay back, (in the late fifties), when I was in Jr. High, my eighth grade English teacher, an elderly lady who was, at the time, teaching grandchildren of some of her earliest students, had tinted rinses every time she went to the hair dresser. It was fun to watch, because the tinting of her gray hair varied through pink, blue, green and so forth. Of course, these were very pastel shades, not such a beautiful brilliant blue as your hair now is, but it obviously impressed me enough, at that young age, that I've never forgotten it.
The other thing I remember about her and that class was learning to diagram increasingly complex sentences, which gave me a super understanding of English grammar that lives with me to this day. That helped me no end when I began studying Latin, and the combination has given me the love of writing compound complex sentences which I'm certain anyone who reads my posts has noticed. :DDe gustibus non disputandum. What kind of shampoo do you use? Ive done my best about not dyeing my hair in almost a year but I just hate how "blonde" my strawberry blonde is.
I want to dye it either rose gold or crimson agian.
I've never used tinted shampoo either----

I looove wild hair. I have had all shades of purple, pink, blue and teal. Sometimes one at a time, sometimes several. The best thing about it is that kids love to talk to you when you have awesome hair. And old people! I have never gotten as many compliments from little old ladies as when I had electric blue hair!
I miss it so much right now, but my fiancé wants me to have a "normal" hair color for our wedding, so I'll have to be all straight untill after june 9th. Boooring.Thanked by 1fj1482 -
You can put a dab of semi permanent color (like Splat!) in white shampoo or conditioner and use as a tinted "wash". I use Splat! and conditioner. I put it in for 5-7 minutes when I shower. It can tint light colored hair or be used to help colors stay longer. I use a red "wash" when I dye my hair red to make the bright vivid red last longer.#28036Thanked by 1fj1482

@ColorGoodStables like Haltanny said you can use a tinted conditioner or just a sulfate free shampoo works too and no matter what use cold water. I just take a nice warm bath and then wash my hair with cold water in the sink. It's easier to make it really cold if I'm just washing my hair then if I'm getting into the shower. The colder the water the better.

I've only dyed my hair once, and it wasn't a complete head of hair too. I got purple highlights put through my dark brown hair and it looked awesome! Was a bit hard to see in low lighting but once the sun caught it it was magical.
Didn't get my hair bleached either ;) They just put the foils in and as it faded, it turned from purple to a reddish colour that also looked cool. Didn't know what they used though.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
@fj1482 perfect! I love hot showers so ill have to switch to hot baths and washing my hair in cold water. I'm not sure if there is any tinted shampoos sold in my area (small town) but I'll see if I can find some. Thanks for the tips----
