Pasture Foals Sold After the 28th?
-
So I always thought - and the message on the front page seems to indicate - that any foals left in pastures will be sold on the rollover between the 27th and 28th of the month. So I made sure all my foals were cleared out of the pasture before the 28th. Then I was moving around some horses and moved a bunch of foals back into pasture yesterday and forgot to take them back out again before getting called away. So I log back in today and find that ALL of my foals are gone!
Was this a bug or do pasture foals get removed every day now?
I assume there's nothing Ammit can do to get the foals back since they'd have all been yummed....I'm so upset. I just lost almost an entire year's worth of foals, and at a financial loss to me too since I'd already fully tested all of them and the pasture sales price doesn't even cover the cost of papering all those foals...
Can someone clarify the pasture sales for me because I want to know for sure in the future what's going on. I can't afford to keep losing foals and money like this... -
They have always been removed everyday.

How did you move foals back into a pasture??
Oh and foals aren't removed every day? At least they never have been before, I'd lose all my foals all the time if that happened LOL! They get removed on the 28th usually, and as for being there after, I personally can't put foals back in until the season before they are breeding age anyway -
I have never noticed them removed from pasture everyday...But yeah how did you even get them back into pasture?
-
I've always been able to put my foals back into pasture so long as the pasture wasn't full for their gender (aka, had at least room for one more mare to get fillies in, and room for at least one more stud to get colts back in).
But yes, my understanding was always that they get removed at the rollover from the 27th to the 28th, but now it seems they get removed every day? Is this everyday from the 28th to the end of the month, or until the start of breeding season in pastures on the 5th, or? What days is it safe to have foals in a pasture for? It might be helpful to write that down somewhere in the FAQs so people don't lose their foals if they make a mistake like I did. -
I suspect, but don’t know, that foals are not safe in the pasture from the 28th through to the start of the next breeding season. Certainly they are not removed every day during the season, or at least never have been before.
That said, Ammit has always said that you should not store keeper foals in the pasture because they could be removed at any time without notice. The pastures are not meant to be used as extra barns.Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms -
but now it seems they get removed every day?
There has been no change, this has always been the case since pastures started.foals are not safe in the pasture from the 28th through to the start of the next breeding season. .... The pastures are not meant to be used as extra barns.

every day as in during breeding season if you breed a pasture and leave the foals in until the next day theyll be deleted? If thats the case then there has been a change because that has never happened to me
-
Not sure how you got that from this "foals are not safe in the pasture from the 28th through to the start of the next breeding season."

The bug is not the removal each day after breeding ends but in it letting put yearlings back in at all. Foals should never be going back into the pasture. The pasture is not extra free barn space.

I think the bug is in the bulk move feature in the barn. I accidentally ended up with foals and 2yo fillies in the pasture when I was moving all the mares in that barn to pasture a while back.#28036

So just to clarify - are foals removed from pastures every day at rollover starting on the 28th and going to the beginning of the next month (like, the 1st), until the beginning of the next breeding season (the 2nd) or the beginning of pastures being open for breeding (the 5th)?
And if it's a bug that's good to know, but I've definitely always been able to put my foals back into pastures. I can put any aged horse into pasture so long as it's not altered and there's space in that gender's slot. -
Because I read "they have always been removed everyday"
-
They have always been removed every day from the 28th to the beginning of the next breeding season. That's what Ammit was saying, she just didn't add the "from the 28 to breeding season" part because the topic was about the 28th to breeding season. She clarified in another comment right above your comment.#28036
