I've been following forums and such but still am not able to recognize snowflake pattern or carriers. If you have some obvious ones could you post them? I have a feeling my stud is one but I really don't know.

You can use the search and search for members of the snowflake breeders club.

Here is my herd of hom snowflakes! You’ll see that the younger horses are quite vivid with small white specs and the older are fading to all white.

Sorry to jump in but is snowflake an open gene, like could I breed one of my mares to a snowflake stallion, or is it one I would have to buy?

They are naturally occurring in the game so it is an open gene. It has also been available for purchase in the past, so some people have purchased it.
